USA Ice Team commemorative Challenge Coin - 2013

This USA Ice Team commemorative Challenge Coin was made to commemorate the 2013 World Ice Fishing Championship in Wausa WI, on the Big Eau Pleine Reservoir Boom Lake, This particular Championship was special as the USA Ice Team returned to "home ice," and had high hopes going into the event. The U.S. won the gold medal in 2010 when the event was at Boom Lake near Rhinelander. Team USA won team Bronze Chad Schaub won individual Bronze. The U.S. Ice team anglers were: Chad Schaub of Michigan Mike Boedeker of Michigan Myron Gilbert of Michigan, Bill Whiteside of Eau Claire, Michael Thompson of Minnesota and Jeff Kelm of Sheboygan The U.S. Ice Team was directed by Mike McNett of Illinois and coached by Brian Gaber of Rhinelander. Russia won the team gold medal at the 2013 World Ice Fishing Championships, outpacing Finland (silver). The final team results were: Ukraine, Sweden, Kazakhstan, Mongolia, Poland, Estonia, Lithuanian and Japan. These commemorative coins are preferred gifts to challenge fellow Ice Angler to complete, gifting for special events, or friendship exchanges.
